I’ve got a full weekend coming up with the Open Air “JubilĂ©” concert in the Stadtpark Hamburg tomorrow (starring the Scorpions, as well as other legendary German greats Inga Rumpf (ex Frumpy) and Peter Maffay, as well as my very own Caro) and the dress rehearsal this evening, so I’ll just shoot one out for you today before I get too stressed out!
First of all though credits go to the following players who knew that the previous Name That Tune was KT Tunstall’s “Saving My Face”
Spnnrn, Clete6, Dan, Tink, Ellie, mstintear, Renfield, shar
Alan Novich knew that the artist was KT Tunstall
The leaders are…: Dan 22 points, Clete 20, mstintear 20, Renfield, Tink and Spnnrn all on 18 points
Over to a tune I’ve been wanting to feature for a while - a song I used to listen to at my Grandmother’s all those years ago (more than 40 i would think) and a song that had me in tears every time around
No doubt this is a song up your street, I would imagine you will recognise the voice straight away - but do you recognise the song? I will throw out the challenge to you - without googling (and be honest please) no-one will get the song

As you can see by the table of the Top Ten, things are all very tight at the top of the “Name That Tune” league
I get the feeling though that the next song might just sort this out a little… either it will be a gimme (as successful single this year in Europe) or it will be one of those tunes that you can’t quite place and nobody will get it right. Personally I am very interested to see how you will get along with this.
The last tune proved to be just too easy for you. The following players knew that I was looking for Loretta Lynn - Coalminers Daughter (a great movie by the way with a great performance from Sissy Spacek):
Dan, Clete6, mstintear, Renfield, Mike (daddyo), Tink, Sev, rettaric, Mike (mscho), Spnnrn, TOML, ctessin, Ellie, ladylion, spudpar, Shari, Lynda, elvisaaron, Debi, Trishabug, Mike (newbill) - congrats to you all
| 1 | Dan | 20 |
| 2 | Clete6 | 18 |
| mstintear | 18 | |
| 4 | Renfield | 16 |
| Mike (daddyo) | 16 | |

As I have had a number of complaints from George W. Bush and Jennifer Love Hewitt (who would prefer to get post only from me), please dont send the answers to them, please answer in the comments box below ;).
Don’t forget to have a look at the poll on the sidebar. This time we are defining the 20 essential Glam singles
WTG to the following players that recognised the last tune as The B52’s and Roam:
Trishabug, Sev, Tink, Spnnrn, sharon, ladylion, Dan, rettaric, Mike (daddyo), Mike (mscho), Clete6, mstintear and Ellie.
This time around Cowboy goes Country, not exactly my cup of tea…lol. See if you recognise this

We have our first anniversary at Name That Tune already… this is Tune no. 10!! Already 41 different players have played the game, most of them regularly - there were 23 comments on the last game….
And of course, as I thought, we all absolutely hate Bobby Goldsbro’s Honey - what a soppy song!! All the more amazing that so many of you were able to identify the song from the musical intro alone… lol!!!!
Here are the players that got it alllll right….. KickTheKann, Debi, ladylion, Sev (”The most awful song in musical history”), Renfield, Sharon, mstintear, Tink, Lynda (”yuck”), rettaric, Shari, MARK, Spnnrn, Spudpar, Rich, Dan, Mike (daddyo), Cheryl, TOML, Mike (mscho) - vomited, Trishabug
For the record: I liked Honey as a kid, used to cry with my mother over it lol…. I always thought Seasons in the Sun and Daddy don’t you walk so fast muchhhh worse….
Todays song is full of merit - it certainly isnt surrounded by controversy like Honey was….

Don’t forget to have a look at the poll on the sidebar (which is a bit of a joke if you ask me…); and if I may do a little plugging for myself - On the Caro Fanwebsite there is a new song that can be downloaded. It hasnt been previously released and is available only from my websites
It would be great if you popped along and had a listen to the preview, by clicking on the link above, or the banner below… cheers
and if you like the song, $1.77 is not very much is it?
Well, judging by the comments this time, not everyone appears to like Supertramp. But this band did play a big part in my growing up (did I ever do that? lol) The song always reminds me of recording a live gig from Supertramp on the TV with my first every cassette recorder years and years ago, where I just fixed the microphone to the loudspeaker of the TV set with tape…. I loved that recording ![]()
I was of course looking for Supertramp’s “Sister Moonshine” from their LP “Crisis, What Crisis” as the following people all knew…. WTG to you:
Alan Novich (doesnt like Supertramp), ladylion, Cheryl (does) , Dan, Tink, TOM , Spnnrn, shar, Sev (does as well), rettaric, mstintear (answered twice), Clete6 (googled…!!), shari, Renfield (cheated), Mike (mscho)
There will be no cheating today - see if you can google a “whoooooo”, but its a song I am sure every knows, and no one ever liked (thats why it was so successful … lol)

you know, looking at the 24 comments that are waiting to be released, I certainly get the feeling that I’m making them too easy… today it will be a little different, but first lets do the honors….
Congratulations to the following players (24 in all…)who all knew that the last Name That Tune was Cher - Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves:
Rich, SuzanRose, Elvisaaron, Spnnrn, Mike (newbill), Mike (daddyo), Renfield, Josh, mstintear, Lynda, Tink, Shari, Spud, Dan, MARK, Sev, Mike (Mscho), rettaric, TOM L, Cheryl, Debi, KickTheKann, Clete6, Ladylion
Some players thought that the reference to G.W.Bush was somehow connected to the song title; actually it wasn’t, I was only trying to be humorous ….
I thought I would like to plug the forum today…. Have you been there yet? Lots of goodies there to discuss. Have a look at “Mini Mystery Lyrics” or tell us about the last concert you went to…
Todays song clip…. I think a quite few of you might recognise the style and get the band….whether you know the song however is a different matter
