As most of you will now know, Mystery Lyrics player Rhoda sadly passed away a few days ago. It seems that she had undergone an operation for uteral cancer, and died from complications arising from the operation.

Danny Federici, one of the original members of Bruce Springsteen’s E-Street Band has lost his battle with cancer and passed away on thursday at the age of 58. He had been fighting a melanoma for 3 years
Federici, who came from Jersey, can be heard on the classic Springsteen song “Born in the USA” and “Born to Run”

Neil Aspinall, chief of Apple Records over a period of more than 35 years, and the man who is generally credited with making sure that the Beatles continued to earn money after they split up, has passed away in New York City at the age of 66 at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, it has been announced. He leaves his wife and five children
Aspinall, who also played background instruments on some of the Beatles songs, has frequently been called the 5th Beatle

Ex-ABBA drummer Ola Brunkert has been found dead in his home in Spain. Brunkert, who was session drummer on all of ABBA’s albums, is believed to have banged his head on a window and suffered fatal injuries to his neck. He was discovered by a neighbour who found him with a towel wrapped around his neck, after he had apparently tried to get help before collapsing

And again we take leave of a musician who made a mark on us when we were young. Norman Smith (known as Normal Norman to John Lennon) has passed away at the age of 85. Smith was initially succesful as the Beatles engineer working on every Beatles production between 1962 and 1965, before being succesful at the beginning of the 70s as Hurricane Smith. We are sad to announce yet another death this week…. Blind blues guitarist and bandleader Jeff Healey died of cancer yesterday at the age of 41 (2. March), it has been revealed on his website. He leaves his wife Christie, daughter Rachel (13) and son Derek (3)
Healey, famed for playing his electric guitar flat on his lap, died of retinoblastoma which claimed his sight when he was a one-year-old-child.

Buddy Miles, drummer in the Jimmy Hendrix Band “Band of Gypsies” has passed away, it was announced on the Buddy Miles website. He had been fighting bad health for a long time. Miles was drummer for Hendrix in 1969/1970 and features on the classic recording “Live at the Fillmore East”

The soul musician Ike Turner, best known for his partnership with Tina Turner has died at the age of 76 at his home near San Diego, California. Turner, who is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, is often credited with releasing the first rock and roll record in 1951
