time to play another game of “Name That Tune”. Before we start though, I would like you to have a look at the latest “Song of the Week”. Due to the lack of page views, I get the impression that most of you arent aware of this feature…, or at least didn’t know that the second song is up on the page. After listening, please don’t forget to rate the song by clicking on one of the stars…

The answer to last weeks Name That Tune was Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet band performing a tune from the “Against The Wind LP” Fire Lake.

Song and artist was correctly identified by Clete6, Alan Novich, Trish and Todd, TOM L, Mark, Spnnrn, Mike (daddyo), congrats to you all…

Todays offering shouldn’t prove too difficult, especially if you watch a certain series on TV…

Its monday again so time to welcome you to another round of “Name That Tune“. Before we start however, I would like to draw your attention to a new feature on the Mystery Lyrics Website. “Song of The Week” - if you havent had a listen already I would request you to do so and after listening to the song, please rate it… cheers

Mike and The Mechanics “Living Years” was the answer to last weeks game, a tune that apparently not everybody liked, but there you go …

Correct answers and kudos: Laurie (welcome to the game!), Dan, Mike (mscho), Spnnrn, TOML, Mike (daddyo), Clete6, Ellie, and Trish and Todd. Renfield thought it was Journey with Every Generation … hard luck Gary, you were on the right road though

Todays offering shouldnt pose any problems…

Well, after only 5 players got the last tune correct, maybe its time to make things a little easier - or are you getting tired of playing?  No? Thought not ….

Jimi Hendrix

I didn’t think that the last game was too difficult, but only 5 players got the 3 points on offer for correctly naming Jimi Hendrix and “Angel”, which of course was covered (very successfully I might add) in 1972 by a certain Rod Stewart

So, three points then to the following players: rettaric, Trish and Todd, Clete6, mike (daddyo) and Spnnrn. Well done to you all…. Spnnrn is sort of stretching out her lead at the top of the table (Which will be updated later on), so its up to the men to strike back. Sev announced he would take the table by storm now he is back, but you have to play to do that, don’t you Sev?

Over to todays song: Another 80s offering, here goes:

Hurray, I’ve finally found the plugin that I was looking for for so long… Now I am able to comment on the comments without mixing up the order, so here is the link to the comments from the last “Name That Tune”

Read comments to NTT 25

The answer, by the way, was The Fortunes - Storm in a Teacup, as was recognised by

Clete6, rettaric, Trish and Todd, and Spnnrn.

Alan Novich and Dan knew that the song was Storm in a Teacup.  Some players thought I was looking for Lynsey de Paul, who in fact did cover this song, but she is female, and the voice in the clip was definately male…. Thats what happens when you go a googling :)

If you would like to here the full song, please go to the Name That Tune page, or click here . For certain reasons this page is restricted to members, so dont forget to register - all membership was unfortunately lost when I changed the page…

3 points for today offering… as well as artist and song, theres a bonus point for anyone who can tell me which British (Scottish) singer had a hit covering this song in the 70s

Here we go:

So, you think its getting too easy, do you? (Only) 13 answers for the last issue of Name That Tune doesnt exactly point that way, but then again as I always maintain - there are no difficult clues, either you know it, then its easy, if you dont it isnt…

Maybe you have noticed that we have a new logo for “Name That Tune” - how do you like it? Also, I’m slowly getting the look and feel of the site the way I want it. Comments as always are most welcome (but only if they’re honest opinions. Oh, and by the way, if anyone does get any error messages about scripts not working or being damaged etc…, please let me know. Cheers

Well done the following players who knew that Name That Tune 23 was

“Kiss - Beth”
(OK, so it was easy, but dont get used to it):

  • Dan, Mike (mscho), Trish and Todd, TOML, Alan Novich, Spud, Krissy, Renfield, Spnnrn, Mike (daddyo), Sev, Ellie and Clete6.

I’m not sure about todays tune.. it was a hit in England all of 35 years ago, but whether it crossed the Atlantic, I can’t say for sure. See what you make of this

Welcome Back to Name That Tune! After a few difficulties with the SQL Database we are now back up running! I’m going to give you an easy one for starters as we get back into the game, but first lets look back at our last clip. If anyone can remember it was a duet, but who was singing?

Kudos go to Dan, Spnnrn, Clete6, Trish and Todd, Ellie who all knew that the last offering was Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave singing “Where the wild Roses Grow” - a lovely song indeed!

Todays song is a rock classic, lets see what you make of this….:
