Hurray, I’ve finally found the plugin that I was looking for for so long… Now I am able to comment on the comments without mixing up the order, so here is the link to the comments from the last “Name That Tune”
The answer, by the way, was The Fortunes - Storm in a Teacup, as was recognised by
Clete6, rettaric, Trish and Todd, and Spnnrn.
Alan Novich and Dan knew that the song was Storm in a Teacup. Some players thought I was looking for Lynsey de Paul, who in fact did cover this song, but she is female, and the voice in the clip was definately male…. Thats what happens when you go a googling
If you would like to here the full song, please go to the Name That Tune page, or click here . For certain reasons this page is restricted to members, so dont forget to register - all membership was unfortunately lost when I changed the page…
3 points for today offering… as well as artist and song, theres a bonus point for anyone who can tell me which British (Scottish) singer had a hit covering this song in the 70s

So, you think its getting too easy, do you? (Only) 13 answers for the last issue of Name That Tune doesnt exactly point that way, but then again as I always maintain - there are no difficult clues, either you know it, then its easy, if you dont it isnt…
Maybe you have noticed that we have a new logo for “Name That Tune” - how do you like it? Also, I’m slowly getting the look and feel of the site the way I want it. Comments as always are most welcome (but only if they’re honest opinions. Oh, and by the way, if anyone does get any error messages about scripts not working or being damaged etc…, please let me know. Cheers
Well done the following players who knew that Name That Tune 23 was
“Kiss - Beth”
(OK, so it was easy, but dont get used to it):
- Dan, Mike (mscho), Trish and Todd, TOML, Alan Novich, Spud, Krissy, Renfield, Spnnrn, Mike (daddyo), Sev, Ellie and Clete6.
I’m not sure about todays tune.. it was a hit in England all of 35 years ago, but whether it crossed the Atlantic, I can’t say for sure. See what you make of this

Welcome Back to Name That Tune! After a few difficulties with the SQL Database we are now back up running! I’m going to give you an easy one for starters as we get back into the game, but first lets look back at our last clip. If anyone can remember it was a duet, but who was singing?
Kudos go to Dan, Spnnrn, Clete6, Trish and Todd, Ellie who all knew that the last offering was Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave singing “Where the wild Roses Grow” - a lovely song indeed!
Todays song is a rock classic, lets see what you make of this….:

OK, so no-one knew that the last “Name That Tune” was Joss Stone singing “Right To Be Wrong”. It was certainly a hit this side of the Atlantic, but maybe never crossed the great Duckpond, I dont know. Its always a little difficult to know which songs were hits in the USA when living in a different continent. Ah well…

Todays song is another I’m not too sure of… over here it was a massive hit a few year ago, but on your side? Give it a try

A Word About totaloldies: In the aftermath of the hi5 disaster, I forgot that maybe some of you are maybe a little reticent about joining another community. Total Oldies however is run be me, and is limited to people all with the same interest. Why not give it a try at www.totaloldies.ning.com ?
A few statistics: We are at present 30 members (welcome Sharon!), there are 70 photos and 12 videos and we are growing all the time. Sounds good? We are ready to welcome you
Oh, isn’t it greaaattttt!!!! Fooled you all, well almost…. Most of the players that answered the last “Name That Tune” thought that I was looking for Randy Meisner “Never Been In Love”, some thought that the mystery artist was Randy Crawford. The only 2 (TWO!!) players that got the answer right were: (big round of applause) Spnnrn and Trish and Todd (who count as one person).
The answer was: Randy Edelman - Uptown Uptempo Woman, a great song indeed!!
Todays offering may be a little easier…

Well done to you all!!! I fear todays tune will not be quite so easy….
But staying in the 60s for a moment… on the sidebar to your right (you need to scroll down a little) is this weeks poll. Which of these songs from the sixties are your favorites?
Todays offering: If I had met the girl I associate with this song a week or so earlier, then maybe I wouldnt have left home and gone to Germany all those years ago…. and where would I be now? lol
