This young British female artist is more in the news these days for her excessive use of drugs, which is a pity, because if she manages to survive long enough, she really has the potential to become something special. Twas my sister that introduced me to her music and todays choice is the first of her songs I heard. Its also one of her most successful, the album of the same name hit the no. 1 spot in the UK and reached no. 7 in the USA. Stylistically it is irresistably reminiscent of 60s Motown

starweavr2 » Ah Rehab… not quite right but certainly a song that fits her. It was a toss up btw between Rehab and Back in Black, but I like Back in Black better. Extra points for being in first make up for the title not being quite right…wtg!!!

Dave, I had the website and I lost it and I can’t seem to get it back. I had a personal Amy Winehouse experience this year (back to black, by the way). We here at Steve Madden shoes wanted to sign her as our spokesperson/advertising icon etc. this was before her record was released…..steve heard her on the BBC on a trip to London…..well, it went slower than we had hoped……we went to her showcase at the bowery ballroom here in nyc (a ten piece stax volt type band) and she was great, but when we met her, she was drunk and missing a tooth. we decided she was maybe not the right image. a good call

Hey Dave, am I the only one having an issue? I tried from my crappy computer, and when that didn’t work I tried from hubby’s and I am having no luck….I did see enough to know its Amy Winehouse, but then it all went awry!
Anyway, I’ll try again later….maybe it’s our service provider.

renfield » There’s some truth in that statement Gary… but artists are a different breed of person anyway, so who knows what their motivation is. Only thing I can say is, as long as she is only destroying herself, nothing can be done. Good music though, wtg!

Hi Dave, Hi to the new ladies and welcome!
Never heard anything by her but it sounds like Amy Winehouse or something like that. Last I heard her hubby was hauled off to jail for beating up or throwing a punch at some fella.
In fact I heard of her through the press regarding canceling concerts and her reputed drug usage, otherwise I’d not know her name. Ergo I do not know the song…
