Welcome to Mystery Lyrics with your Host Dave!
The Mystery Lyrics Calendar tells us that we have a birthday in the house today. Many happy returns go out to
Bill - Magisterphiz. Hope you have a great day!!!

The Mystery Lyrics Website is getting better all the time! Now we have our own discussion forum, where you can discuss music. Themes to watch are “Mini-Mystery Lyrics” - just one line of text, no clues, no more, as well as the video of the latest hot band to come out of England. The Zimmers rendering of the Who’s “My Generation” is something you need to see, especially when you realize that the lead singer is 90 years old, and the total age of the band is in excess of 1000 years! And if you want to post a reply or comment, even a new theme, all you have to do is register by clicking on the “register” link under Community on the right sidebar! - certainly not to be missed…
Todays Mystery Lyrics…
I believe I have said this before, but for all the diversity in music that I listen to, I am a rock and roller at heart! Todays band accompanied me as a teenager for many years - the number of albums they have released I can’t count. Critisised by many as “the worst band in the world” but loved by their fans, they were in fact the true advocators of rock boogie. After a swipe at the market in the late 60s doing a sort of tinny bubblegum pop, with one unforgotten hit, they went into hibernation to re-emerge in the early 70s with a completely different sound to take the UK market by storm. For 10 years or so they could do no wrong. With their brand of no-frills rock and roll and a marvellous live show they wooed the British youth.. The band are still around and have just released their newest work “In Search of the Fourth Chord”.
I have featured this group before, but it was with a ballad which was maybe a little untypical. Todays choice is one of their numerous UK hits, and one to really let ripping…
Your lyrics are:
Oh my legs are shaking, oh my heart is breaking
I’m just feeling like a boy

Hello, Dave.
Howzabout Status Quo doing Mystery Song. Shouldn’t that be our theme song?

What would Mystery Lyrics be without a “Mystery Song”? i’m wondering how come someone hadnt done this’n before….I guess we have all been following the Status Quo. Here in the US, they are only known for the one tune, so everything else will be brand new territory for me…
Dave on Tue, 4th Dec 2007 1:01 am
well Scott… maybe thats because nobody ever heard of it before. As we all know Status Quo were known in the USA only for “Pictures of Matchstickmen”. No fooling you though, well done
Alan Novich on Tue, 4th Dec 2007 2:18 am
status quo and the mystery song, neither of which I have heard of ! Dave, you stumped me !
Dave on Tue, 4th Dec 2007 2:19 am
and aren’t I proud of that Alan? lol. Actually though, although Status Quo were very popular in Europe, they hardly made a mark on the US market, so not really surprising. You got there in the end though anyway, so well done Alan!!
Clete6 on Tue, 4th Dec 2007 4:03 am
I thought “Pictures Of Matchstick Men” was more psychedelia than bubblegum, but in any case I liked that way more than any of their other stuff. Anyway, this is the apropos “Mystery Song” by the Status Quo.
Dave on Tue, 4th Dec 2007 4:04 am
Andy, lets call it psychedelic bubblegum then? WTG
RENFIELD on Tue, 4th Dec 2007 4:59 am
