Name That Tune #13

30 May 2008 158 views 12 Comments

I’ve got a full weekend coming up with the Open Air “JubilĂ©” concert in the Stadtpark Hamburg tomorrow (starring the Scorpions, as well as other legendary German greats Inga Rumpf (ex Frumpy) and Peter Maffay, as well as my very own Caro) and the dress rehearsal this evening, so I’ll just shoot one out for you today before I get too stressed out!

First of all though credits go to the following players who knew that the previous Name That Tune was KT Tunstall’s “Saving My Face”

Spnnrn, Clete6, Dan, Tink, Ellie, mstintear, Renfield, shar
Alan Novich knew that the artist was KT Tunstall

The leaders are…: Dan 22 points, Clete 20, mstintear 20, Renfield, Tink and Spnnrn all on 18 points

Over to a tune I’ve been wanting to feature for a while - a song I used to listen to at my Grandmother’s all those years ago (more than 40 i would think) and a song that had me in tears every time around ;) No doubt this is a song up your street, I would imagine you will recognise the voice straight away - but do you recognise the song? I will throw out the challenge to you - without googling (and be honest please) no-one will get the song

Here goes

Of course I know this voice and the song, as my Dad was a big Jim Reeves fan! “Old Tige” is this song. My Dad’s favorite was “He’ll Have To Go”

one of my mothers favorites the late Jim Reeves and Old Tige, and I never would have known it without mom having played it a zillion times. Always made me cry too. Sappy ass song!
