Name That Tune #16, (Name the Original)

OK, I’m taking this game a step further today. The clip at the end of the post is a cover of a song made famous by somebody else. I want you to Name the Original.

But first lets recap on last weeks Name That Tune…. The Aritst I was looking for was Peter Frampton and his famous “Do You Feel Like We Do”, all the following players got it right… kudos go to Mike (mscho), Jansadiction, mstintear, Donna, Mike (daddyo), ladylion, Clete6, alan n., RENFIELD, rettaric, Anonymous, tink, Spnrnn.

Don’t forget to have a look at the poll on the sidebar to the right… I want to know your opinion!

Today I am asking you to identify the following tune…..I want to know

  1. Who is singing the actual clip (2 points)
  2. Who made this song famous (1 point) - easy ;)
  3. The title of the song (1 point) - also easy ;)

    The song, originally done by Tom Jones, is Delilah….Not sure who sings this snippet….

    i emailed you, dave, but then i saw i didn’t fill this out. the song is delilah, orig done by tom jones, and on first blush it sounded like jim morrison to me, but research tells me alex harvey of the SAHB.

    but i’m hearing a little ‘harry chapin’ in the voice…
