Name That Tune #18

So, did I catch you out on that one then? Nobody got all the answers correct, in fact only two players answered at all… Kudos then to Spnnrn and Mike (daddyo) for knowing that the title of the song was “We can work it out” from The Beatles. No-one recognised the singer in the clip, the late but great Steve Marriott with Humble Pie, from the Street Rats album.

By the way, doing a feature on Humble Pie got me to thinking about who is the greatest British Rock Vocalist of all time… have a look at the poll on the sidebar. These are the ones that came to my mind, but maybe you have other ideas. If you do, just add the names with the comments to Name that Tune

Hey, a few of you have signed up for Total Oldies, but I’m sure more of you will be interested in this project. go to www.totaloldies.ning.com to have a look, and if you like it, why not sign up on the spot.

Todays offering will I think be a little easier… have a listen to this

Rickie Lee Jones from 1979, looking like a pert Joni Mitchell, singing “Chuck E’s In Love”.

I voted for David Byron, but I would have voted for Greg Lake, Annie Haslam, Justin Currie or Colin Blunstone if they had been listed. I also like Richard Thompson’s vocals a lot, but I know some people don’t like his voice at all.

I have no idea who Francis Rossi is.
