Name That Tune 30
Well, after presenting the Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again” the previous week, I obviously thought it would be appropriate to fool myself last week. Thing is, I always check the songs I want to present on the Billboard Website to make sure that they are in fact tunes that hit the US charts - no point in sending clues to songs that you have no chance of recognising… Anyway, I obviously looked at the wrong song, as I noted that it reached no. 46 on the Billboard charts in 1968, whereas it did in fact get to number 1 in 1967. This made of course a gimme for a lot of you, which I hadn’t quite intended
| No matter, let’s see what you make of this clip. The artist concerned was one of my favorite vocalists in the 70s. She has had a long career, and is still singing.
I remember Kent talking about this song a few years ago, saying that he had gone out to buy the LP just because of this song, (which is also what I did) so I know some of you will recognise it. Just for the record, I have been unable to find any Billboard statistics for this song (how convenient lol) Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Knowing that you are all lovers of good music, I’m sure you won’t mind me plugging one of my favorite artists on this page. Many of you will know that I got to know Caro, one of my idols from my youth, a couple of years ago, and since then have been involved, designing the official fan webpages. Now, at last, Caro’s latest album is available at CDBaby, and thus to the US music loving public. You can preview the album at www.caro-fans.com and buy at CDBaby if you like it. Or … a long shot, if you’re a reader of Forgotten Hits, there are 3 Caro LPs to be won |

don’t know if my other one went thru, it errored out when I hit “submit” anyway…like I was saying, I listened to it several times because the voice sounded so familiar and all I can come up with is that it sounds like Kiki Dee, but I have no idea what the song is
I think this is Kiki Dee’s version of Amoureuse. There are no Billboard staistics to find for the song…

To tell you the truth Alan, I hope it wasn’t Elton at all … Don’t Go Breaking My Heart was awful in my opinion, Kiki Dee had much more to offer…
