Well, after the bio from Krissy, I don’t really know what to say….

These days probably most of you will know that I was born and bred in Yorkshire, England before moving to Hamburg in Germany after leaving school. I had long considered that my worse move, but one day I realised that I couldn’t regret the move, because it would be regretting my kids - if I hadn’t come here I might well have children, but they wouldn’t be the same (does this make sense?)

Anyway music and internet, soccer and rugby league are my main hobbies. As far as music is concerned, I might have mellowed through the years, but basically still like the same stuff… What I can’t do with is the commercial stuff they call “adult music” these days - like Tina Turner, Phil Collins and such. And, I would rather go to a concert in a smaller downtown club than to one in a stadium or similar, then there the real music is being played. And as anyone who has been here knows, Hamburg still has a vibrant music scene.

My favorites are as a rule rather obscure … Maggie Bell (met her last year after running after her for 35 years lol) and Stone The Crows are still unsurpassed imho. Slade and Status Quo played a huge part in my youth. Then of course, there’s Caro ….

Caro was an idol of my youth, hailed as the discovery of the year, winner of the German Record Prize (Now ECHO) I still remember the concerts in Hamburg, she was 19 years old, so was I - Great days. And then a couple of years ago when she started her comeback, I got to know her and her husband. And after doing the fan-site for a couple of years, I have now been asked to take over her official home page. Great times are back :)

Although the Mystery Lyrics Calendar isnt working at the moment, this birthday bio from Krissy is just too good to miss! Krissy and a Fence

Favorite music:  many and varied, but generally classic rock and blues. LOVE blues, any era.

Watch too much tv.
Graphic artist hopefully with a new job soon, send freelance my way if you need any work done!
Couldn’t possibly name my favorite films, but I like those with intelligent scripts that have, “holy crap, I did NOT see that coming!” twists.
I had a cat for 18 years that died a few weeks ago. Still trying to get out of the habit of checking his food when I get home. Can’t believe he’s no longer with me. Planning on getting a new feline friend when I move to a new apartment in a couple of months. I also had a Quaker parrot named Caesar, but he was accidentally decapitated by a ceiling fan the night I moved into my current place in August. I miss him–he talked a lot, and I’m still getting used to not hearing, “Hey baby!” when I wake up every day. Thankfully the shock still hasn’t entirely worn off. I still have a Lutino yellow cockatiel named Gabriella. We named her Gabriel till she laid an egg one day. Scratch that–Gabriella it is. She’s a hoot.
Have two boyfriends that add up to about 75% of one. One of us will make a decision soon. I think. Maybe. Or something.
Completely ADDICTED to education in all of its forms. I have ADD so I take in a lot, but I don’t necessarily remember every bit of it. I’m afraid learning too many languages of late will make me forget them all, or combine them into some crazy überlanguage. I probably should have also been a researcher besides an artist.
Love video games, but I try not to let them take over my life. See television statement.
Master tailor and seamstress specializing in historical costuming, but modern things as well. Also a textile freak–I embroider, knit, crochet, tat lace, needlepoint, crewel and various other fiber fantasies. Taking orders! LOL

I have recently been swindled into making horse show-shirts for a girl I work with. 400 rhinestones and all. Don’t ask.

I have also recently been coerced into singing at weddings and for a local blues band, which I had no intention of doing. Still trying to stave that off.
My friends are scattered, but we’re still close, even after multiple-year hiatuses. Those are true family. As I like to say, good friends help you move, but true friends help you move the bodies.
Love Duran Duran and Skynyrd. How’s that for variety?
Recently got out of a disastrous 5 and a half year relationship. He is still being a punk, and just doesn’t get that I’m not coming back. Supposedly has a new girlfriend that he plans to marry by the end of next year. Woe, and good luck to the girl.
I am, on Dad’s side, Haitian, Ivory Coastal, Cherokee and Sioux. I am also, on Mom’s side, Irish, Scot, English, French, Italian, East Prussian (now Poland), Lithuanian, Portuguese and Jew. I like to refer to myself as the one-woman United Nations. I have no intention of going to G8 conferences, but I’d like to read the transcripts.
I play tennis and hockey, the latter of which I have an almost sick devotion. Go Red Wings! (By the way, I’ve been a fan since back in the day, NOT just because they win Stanley Cups of late.)
My father was in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, sprinter. Probably never heard of him. I haven’t heard from him in two years, and 15 previously.

My mother is a writer, currently inventing a language of the witches. She was also a Naval Combat nurse in Vietnam, a serious protester, hung out with Abbie Hoffman, and once got herself arrested for chaining herself to an Administration desk at Drake University in Iowa. My grandfather still cackles thinking about bailing her out of jail. She did not find his delight as entertaining. Mom rules.

My sister has a boy and a girl, and a stepson. Their names are Hunter, Lily and Lake, respectively. That was totally accidental. They are not tree-chaining vegans by any stretch of the imagination. She is a nurse and will be in med school soon. Sister rules.
My two half-brothers (from Dad) were basically lost to me for about 15 years, then we suddenly found each other again. As it turns out, the older, Dave, is one of my close friend Kelly’s best friend for years. Ironic, huh? Dave married a marvelous girl named Annette that eerily resembles my mother, red hair and all. Kelly is also involved in the 75% boyfriend ratio. I bet Dave would be disappointed if I didn’t pick Kelly, and frankly, so would Kelly’s parents. How do you get yourself into these things? Anyone?
I speak French, Italian, some Spanish, and enough German to get myself into trouble. I currently have exchange students from Germany and Japan living with me. They are funny, funny girls and absolute darlings.
I may be taking a trip to Miami to see a guy I’ve known for years, who of late is trying to woo me with a trophy-wife lifestyle. Poor thing, that he thinks he has to transact women into dating him. Again, how do you get yourself into these things? Bueller??

I am a Christianized Jew who is riding the fence between intelligent design creationism and evolution. I’ll decide for sure when I see the missing link…

I have an HP Pocket PC that I can’t live without. I hate being on the phone. I was once told by an interviewer that I talk too much. Perhaps this missive is proof of that. Sorry, ADD does that.

I have had 8 surgeries for cervical cancer, and am completely cancer-free and with intact reproductive utensils. Ain’t modern medicine grand? I still, however, jump at the sound of fingernail clippers. LOL
My friends are all their own brand of crazy.
My middle name is Janellyn, which is Welsh. It is a 500+ year old family name. My first name is Kristin. It should have been Morgan, but my father talked my mother into Kristin, which was the name of a local weather girl he was in love with at the time. THANKS Daddy.
My last name ought to be Jewell, for a cane plantation in Haiti from where some of my people come. It was changed to Lee when my father was adopted by another part of the family.
I’ll stop there before you feel like you’re reading War and Peace.  =)
